Workspaces

Everything happens in a workspace. Think of it as a project folder that holds:

• your conversations with the agent (a workspace can have several);
• the apps the agent creates, such as documents, sheets and decks;
• the connections this workspace may use, such as a YouTube channel or a Shopify store.

Sending a goal from the Home input creates a workspace for you. Open, rename or delete workspaces from the Workspaces list on the left; press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) to search workspaces and common actions.

Workspaces are isolated

An agent in one workspace only sees that workspace’s files and connections. An account granted to workspace A isn’t available in workspace B unless you grant it there too.

Talking to the agent

• One goal at a time. The goal, the form of the result, the constraints. It plans the steps.
• Add detail any time. Message it while it works; it takes that into account on the next step.
• Stop any time. The stop button ends the current turn and keeps what’s already done.
• Start a new conversation for a different job in the same project. Files and connections are shared across the workspace.

How the agent works

1. Understands the goal and plans. On long jobs it keeps a plan and works through it.
2. Acts. It writes and runs code in an isolated sandbox and processes data and files; for outside services it goes through connectors.
3. Asks when needed. Actions with side effects go to approval; if a connection is missing, it asks you to connect one.
4. Delivers. Files and apps appear in the workspace and in Outputs, with a summary of what it did.

Long jobs keep running in the background, even after you close the tab.

Apps (gadgets)

When the result is best as a thing (an editable document, a sheet, a deck, a dashboard) the agent creates an app. An app:

• runs in its own sandbox, and its data belongs to you;
• can be used right away, or improved further by the agent;
• can be shared with others to build or use together, or turned into a blueprint others can copy.

Quick create from the input

The + menu in the input lists common output formats such as New Doc, New Sheet and New Slides. Pick one to create a blank document, sheet or deck in the current workspace, then ask the agent to fill it in.
