Limits

A few platform limits worth knowing. Most people never run into them.

When Gosper sends a file out to a connected external service — for example uploading a video to YouTube, or a file to a cloud drive — a single file can be up to 5 GiB (about 5.3 GB). This applies to any connected app, not just one specific service.

A file larger than 5 GiB can’t be published to an external service in a single upload today. If you need to, just ask Gosper — it can suggest a workaround, like compressing or splitting the file first.

This limit is only about sending files out. It does not limit:

  • Bringing files into Gosper — attaching a file to a message, or having Gosper fetch one from a link, works for much larger files (they’re transferred in pieces). See Files & uploads.
  • Working on a file — once it’s in your workspace, Gosper can process a file regardless of the 5 GiB figure.
