A Shopify Hydrogen store for padel players across Europe now answers shoppers with Gosper AI Support, set up from one knowledge page, one store domain and one set of instructions.
Background
SpinPadel sells padel rackets and gear through a Shopify Hydrogen storefront, in six languages. A racket is a considered purchase: shoppers want to know which series suits their level and style, what it costs in their market, and how shipping, returns and warranty work before they buy.
To answer those questions at any hour, the team built its own AI shopping assistant: their own chat interface, on a backend they ran themselves, with their own model keys.
The challenge
The assistant worked, but everything behind it was the team’s to maintain next to the store itself: the model backend and its keys, the prompts, protection against abuse, and a ceiling on what it could spend. And its answers about price and stock were only as current as the material it had been given.
What changed
Gosper AI Support now runs the assistant. Its whole setup is three things:
- One knowledge page. The store already published a guide covering its brand, racket series, offers, policies, FAQ and site pages. That page became the assistant’s knowledge as it was; nothing was re-entered.
- The Shopify store domain. Products, variants, prices and stock come from a live Shopify lookup in the shopper’s market, so the assistant checks before it states them.
- One set of instructions, in the team’s own words: recommend by budget, level and style; link each option to its product page; send order and after-sales questions to the contact page.
There is no model backend or key for the team to run any more, and shoppers kept the chat they knew.
What shoppers get
A shopper can ask for a racket under a budget and get two to four options, each with a reason and a link to its real product page, with prices and availability checked against the live catalog. Follow-ups like “and the second one?” are understood from the conversation and the page they are on.
Questions about shipping, returns and warranty are answered from the store’s own policies. Anything that needs an order or an account goes to the store’s contact page, and every reply comes back in the language the shopper wrote in.
